Another "must see" of Munich, best of its type (as the other are Museums, BeerHouses etc. Free entrance and why not to see it? Impressive inside... Strong legs, may try the roof of the tower! We couldn't do this, cause we were tired, but others said it was a great view... more
The size and theme of this church were impressive - we didn't have the time (or energy) to make it up the tower to see the city, but will plan our next trip accordingly to allow it! more
Experiencing a church is, of course, a personal matter, & no doubt hearing a concert or a mass there will contribute to and enrich the experience. I left the airport with a 6 hour layover. Caught a train (subway) S6? from the airport to the Marienplantz (sp!) stop. As a previous reviewer stated, it was right around the corner from the town square and the Glocenspiel (sp). This is one wonderful church to visit. I happend to be able to catch mass there and really enjoyed... more
It is hard to believe that I am the first to review Frauenkirche. Simply said, if you are in Munich, it is a must. Apparently, beginning in April you can climb to the tower (similar to St. Pete's) for a better view of the altstadt, although I was there in March... It doesn't compare to Birnau in the bodensee region,... more
