The Bavarian royalty not only built castles on the dime of their subjects, they also spent it on amassing one of the best collection of paintings in the world. Most of it is housed in the complimentary Alte (old) and Neue (new) Pinakothek, but also in various other smaller museums nearby. More

We just called in for a quick lunchtime snack between veiwing the paintings. The deserts looked great but we chose the 'Paninis' and were not disappointed, hot, fresh and delicious. The coffe was so good that I had to re-order. Clean and pleasant environment with courteous and attentive staff. More

The permanent collection is superb. The design if the NP allows for multiple types of browsing via ramp or gradual stairs and lots of great little ante rooms. It is nicely systemised tower so you won't miss a spot. More
