It happened so funny that we appeared in the park at 6pm, when it was dark in Munchen. We had to assure ourselves that we hadn't made a mistake several times, because nothing witnessed that it was it - the park was absolutely dark. One or two street lamps - and dark paths in the forest. Biergartens, such as Seehaus... more

At the end of the day, Englischer Garten is really just one big garden, nothing more. That being said, it is lovely, has a pond where you can rent row boats, creeks, large open green area's for games, people riding bicycles, walking dogs, etc. My husband and I had a lovely walk through the garden on a sunny day. Whether you have kids are not, take some time to walk through the Englischer Garten. Enter at Prinzregenten Str where the Eisbach Canal begins so you don't miss seeing the surfers on the fast moving rapids. more

This is a wonderful place to spend the day or the afternoon. This park is pleasant, has lovely wide open places and a great beer garden in the center of it all. I had only one real sunny day in Munich to enjoy this park, and I made it last as long as a I could. more

Imagine Central Park surrounded by Biergartens...ducks....paddleboats...and a beautiful, serene atmosphere. The English Gardens are a lovely diversion from the hum of city life. Spend a morning in the hum of Schwabing cafe life and escape to the park. Relax and enjoy the Seehaus and Chinese garden biergardens. A delightful day is ahead of you. more

We rented bikes from Mike's Bike Tours for a day. We spent the day riding around the park discovering all the fun areas it had to offer. We hit up all the beer gardens (Chinese tower being my favorite) and took some time to just relax in the grass. Yes ... there are some nudists ... but they are friendly!... more

The Englischer Garten is a perfect Munich attraction. It combines nature, history and Munich's hallmark libation, beer. The Munich visitor will find four beer gardens in or adjacent to the park. Also, the park is peppered with historical art pieces and buildings that are well worth seeing for their own sake. The Chinese Tower, the site of a beer garden... more

This garden is quite large and every inch was beautiful. I especially enjoyed watching the surfers...surfers in the middle of Munich...who knew?! It was funny to see people walking around carrying their surf boards in the middle of a garden... We rode through everything while on a bike tour. I probably could have ridden just through the garden for hours... more
