It's probably only my taste - but I found this museum and excellent masterpiece of the modern architecture filled with a lot of rubbish called art - it's simply not worth to spend a lot of time to find something valuable - the only exception is the history of industrial desing section... More

An interesting and wideranging collection and ofter state of the art special exhibitions. We saw Frauen, showing works by Picasso, Beckmann and de Kooning. Very ambitious, a bit strenous, maybe. More

Went to the Pinakothek der Moderne yesterday. Was told 21 euros per person to go all three Pinakothek museums, including the Pinakothek der Moderne audio tour. A bit pricey but OK. Then was charged 5 more euro per person at the stairs for the audio tour. $80 for three people, but at least we get to see three museums, right?... More

I stayed there in the "Frauen" Exhibition, they also showed paintings of MAX BECKMANN & WILLEM DE KOONING, reviewing how the portrayal of women in the fine art of painting changed in the early decades of the last century (until the 70's). If you have a little bit of more time, you can buy a combo-ticket for Picasso & the... More

It was very interesting! It made my husband and I feel old.... Since we grew up using most of the stuff that is now held at the museum. It was only €1 on Sundays which was an amazing deal compared to the normal €12. More

More about design and exhibits that try to shock you instead of resembling art. Not my cup of tea. More

If you are a design enthusiast this would be a great place to visit. They had an enjoyable exhibit on cars and motorcycles. The exhibit on architecture of great libraries was great as well. I'm just not that into design. There was not enough paintings or drawings for my liking. I was expecting more from a museum with a reputation... More

Having recently travelled to the US and England, I've been doing a fair few modern art galleries, and this one was up there. I loved the layout of the building, and how light and bright it was inside. The collections weren't super-vast, but that was one of the things I really liked about it. It was a well thought-out collection,... More

I found the layout a bit confusing. Some nice pieces, but this style i not my favorite. Worth a stop with the day pass. More

Liked the Design section downstairs. The art upstairs - not so good. Just nowhere near as interesting or thought-provoking as is usually found in modern art galleries. Nicely displayed though with lots of empty space. Staff fairly miserable and haunting, and it is slightly dismaying that there is so much scaffolding in place inside. Go on a Sunday when the... More
