I didn't intend to hike to Andechs. This was day 3 of Munich and my legs were already sore. It is a 45 min trip by S bahn No 5 to Herrscing ( the end of the line ) and then directly outside the railway station a bus awaits you to take you on the 10 minute journey to the monastery. Although this is a religious site, most people come here for the alcohol. I never saw a monk... more
