Karl's Gate is at the entrance to one of the main streets in Munich. This road leads to the main square, Marienplatz. It's hard to miss if you plan to visit this area so you're almost guaranteed to see it. It's quite a sight, especially after the sun has gone down and it's lit up.

It's a lovely unique looking entrance leading to the centre of town. Also there are lots of restaurants, and a fountain for photos as well.

This was the nearest old gateway to our hotel so we walked through it every day of our stay in Munich and I think it looks really lovely. It is nice to think that even after the city walls were destroyed that some of the old gateways still exist, and this one looks really good!
