If you've seen other places like Versailles, Windsor, the Tower of London, you really don't need to see this. Plus, you have to follow the path, indicated by arrows, and it's almost 2 hours long. Pretty exausting.
Nice rooms, paintings, furniture, but again, something you can see elsewhere.

We did the Residence and the Treasury in two days. The tours are long and detailed but well worth it. Purchase the audio tour and just listen to the rooms or items you want. Doing both the Residence and the Treasury in one day could be very tiring.

The Residenz, long time residence of the Kurfürst (Elector) and later the Kings of Bavaria, is very big: 1/8 of the area of Munich town. Since it's desctruction in 1945 it has been beautifully restored bit by bit, and a lot can now be visited. The Rich Chapel is especially beautiful after the restoration. Must see if you visit Munich!

This is one of the grandest and most beautiful palaces in Europe. Even though it does not look very impressive on the outside, it is absolutely magnificent on the inside rivaling palaces in France or England.

Fantastic collection of jewels and stunning rooms...don't miss it.

We visited the Munich Residence on our last visit to Munich. I'd probably built up my expectations higher than I should have, and felt a little let down at the end of it. Was still an amazing place, and we're glad we went, but the self guided tour eventually got a little long and we didn't see what we were...
