A very impressive collection and very much worth the small 5 euro admission price. There was an audio guide in English but it had pretty limited coverage (one or two cases per room were described). Things that stood out for me: the toy train collection, the tin soldier collection and the various period kitchen toys which showed the evolution of... More

Nice stories behind toys of all the times. Toys created for the childs, for their happiness but also for their formation. You can feel how the best ones are those created with the passion and with the child in mind. Railways model are of course present, but maintenance was in progress and no activities was shown. More

So much to see on all floors of this unusual and detailed museum. The ciy of Nurnberg has made toys for many years and it was fascinating to see the =developments pre-and post War, and to see modern-day children enjoying playing in the play areas. A real star attraction More

It is like going back to our youth with all kind of toys we used. I think it is great for young children or for adults born in the 50's More

The museum happened to be open on a Monday when we visited Nuremberg. Normally, museums are closed Mondays. This was a nice surprise for us. The various levels of the museum are well laid out. Good audio tour in various languages. Even have a children's audio tour. The doll houses and miniature tin toys exhibits shouldn't be missed. Even our... More

If you are going with kids... at least give them 2 to 3 hours... to watch... and appreciate the whole thing The toys here explain European Civilization and history in a very narrative way. These depicts... how the old trains used to look like.. or a... More

All our kids liked looking at the exhibits, the only sadness was that there were only a few areas where they could play with toys. Perhaps it is more fun in the summer when the outside play area is open? More
