The enormity of the Zeppelin Field (Nazi Party Rally Grounds) has to be seen to be believed - apparently the size of 14 football stadiums. The buildings and stands are mostly ruins now and fenced off for safety reasons and it felt a bit eerie walking around the grounds. A lot of the area is now used for sporting fields... More

Impressive part of the Nazi hype. Hitler had an inferiority complex to the 12th degree! This edifice was built to impress the world! It still does. When it was dedicated in with over 100,000 players to the movie camera, it was a movie set, but by him. He wanted the world to know that the German people worshipped him like... More

The Nazi party rally grounds include several historical sites. The Documentation Center itself is located in the Coliseum and will be the only way to see its inside (the building was never finished therefore don’t expect to see much beside the standing walls). Near the documentation center is located the Zeppelin Field (there are maps and panels throughout the site... More

A great way to spend (quite) a few hours in Nuremberg. You don't need to be really into history to get a lot out of the Nazi Party Rally Grounds and Document Centre. Put aside plenty of time to go through this place, but we found it extremely moving and learned plenty without it being full of rubbish propaganda. We... More

I'm living about 30 km's from Nuremberg and we regularly go to see the matches of the Nuremberg Ice Tigers - the Ice Hockey Arena and the football stadium of the 1. FC Nuremberg are just behind the Reichsparteitagsgelände - by the way this is the correct name, you have it wrong in your description. The first time I went... More

Getting there is easy. If you're at or near the Hauptbahnhof, take Tram 9 (toward Doku-Zentrum) and get off at the Doku-Zentrum stop, where you cannot miss the museum. If I was only rating the Documentation Center/museum, I would give it a perfect rating. It is a very well-run, clean museum with informative audio guides that take you through the... More

If you're catching the train, get off at the first station - and head to the documentation centre first. It makes it easier to find from the train. There are signs and a series of tall metal boards displaying the walk around the grounds. A MUST if in Nuremberg. More

You can almost hear the marching feet and Hitler haranging the crowd. I'm glad I went. More

The entire area, including the unfinished Nazi Party Congress Hall, the Zeppelin field, the Nazi Documentation Center and the lake is something not to be missed. Credit goes to the city fathers to have kept these structures intact. Recommend at least 2 hours to go through the Documentation Center and absorb the information on the party's rise to power and... The rally grounds are massive in size, though have been mostly converted into parkland, a parking lot, or recreational areas. It's worth strolling around to get a feel for how large the area was, particularly if it's a nice day, though there isn't too much left for the history buff. More
