“Don't really see the fuss, but if you're in the area, check it out”

It was a cute place to take a few photos, but nothing very spectacular. The surrounding gardens were very nice. You have to ring the bell to get someone to let you into the garden, but we were unable to get into the 'castle' itself. If you can figure that part out, perhaps it will be worth the trip! Walking... Or one can make an appointment. The owner has to guide, as his wife is suffering from a bad knee. One has to 'kling' the bell, and the owner will come. Toppler Castle is part of the beautiful Tauber Valley walk that continues on to the little village of Detwang. It is easiest accessed via Burg Tor which has a lovely medieval garden jutting on a promotory with a lookout over the valley and down to the castle. Keep an eye out for the face mask carved into the tower wall.... More
