This converted Baroque church is located on St. Killian's Square. Neumunster was built in the XI century on the burial place of this saint and his companions St. Colonnatus and St. Totnan. The church houses several significant works of art from the 15th century, including the Madonna and Man of Sorrow by Tilman Riemenschneider. The narrow facade hides the presence of a cloister . We didn't see any of this because the church was closed. Admired the curved baroque facade of red sandstone. It's a complete illusion that you're in Italy.

We liked this stunning Baroque facade and went into. The structure of the building is impressive. Originally it was built about 1060 in the place where St. Kilian and his companions were martyred. St. Kilian Crypt Crypt of the Cross is in inside. The church was damaged in 1945, when the city was destroyed, and it was renovated later several times. The aim of the big renovation (from 2007-2009) was to recreate the Baroque interior. I think it was succesful, but I don’t like the contemporary design, the too modern paintings. But it’s worth a visit.

The front of the church is beautiful, ornate, and elaborate in its baroque architecture. The front facade is just stunning. One of the prettiest churches that we have seen on our travels.

The Neumünster Collegiate church has a baroque facade and dates back to 1065. It has uite an interesting and unique architecture.

From 1180 to 1250 this church was renovated.

As with many buildings in Wurzburg was damaged by bombing during World War II.

This is a fascinating Baroque church and it has interesting statuary on the building. We learned a little of the history of the church on our tour.

This beautiful church is located on the site where apparently Kilian, Totnan and Kolonat died as martyrs. By the altar you can see their statues.

Worth a little time and effort to go take a look at - grand and ornate, but difficult to get a full sense of due to the surrounding buildings.

Quite a few paintings on the ceiling and enough gold leaf to satisfy without being over the top. Free admission here too.

Next, we walked up to the grand Baroque facade of the Neumünster Collegiate Church ‘Kollegiatstift Neumünster’ in German, which is wedged in between two houses on Kürschnerhof street in the city centre of Würzburg...

The church was built by St. Adalbero, Bishop of Würzburg in 1060 in Romanesque style with a nave and aisles and two choirs. Renovations with expansion of the eastern section took place between 1180 to 1250, wherein, the Romanesque west choir was demolished. Later, the west facade and the interiors were built in Baroque style

The church was damaged during the Bombing of Würzburg in World War II, but it was subsequently restored...
