Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited this church and were impressed by the simple and modern design of the alter. I've visited many churches and the statue of Jesus was one of the most modern and beautiful I've seen. Just lovely.

Came across this church by chance and as we walked in we were taken aback. The inside is a uniform white, with many statues and decorative features. It is light and airy and we were the only people.
Beautiful music provided a wonderful background, and we agree that this was the best church we had ever seen.

While walking around Würzburg, by happenstance we passed a seminary and decided to enter its church – Michaelskirche (Saint Michael’s Church) – which proved to be quite beautiful. This church, built between 1765 and 1798, was destroyed as a result of the British bombing in March 1945, as was much of the city. After World War II, it was partially repaired. As part of the 400th anniversary of the Würzburg seminary in 1989, an artistic redesign of the church was initiated, resulting in its present condition. While the exterior looks old, but by contrast the appearance of the interior is tastefully modern. We were able to walk around this impressive church and take photographs. This church is very close to the grounds of the Würzburg Residenz and is quite accessible by foot. People who enjoy visiting houses of worship would like Michaelskirche.

Like a lot of Wurzburg, this church was heavily bombed by the RAF towards the end of WWII, and like a lot of churches and other historical buildings in Germany, was rebuilt after the war. Unlike them, however, there was no attempt to slavishly recreate the interior to what was there before; rather the interior was approached afresh, and this makes the interior of this church one of the most beautiful I've seen in Germany. It is both modern and traditional, with the ceiling mouldings and the stations of the cross primarily in white and while the characters are modeled in a modern style, they are at one and the same time traditional and timeless. My photos are not really good enough to post, but in any event, cannot do it justice,

The church is very close to the Residenz and is in my view not to be missed if you are in the area.

Climb all 533 steps on a winding staircase to get to the top. Super impressive views. Of course, the interior at floor level is amazing. But this was a fun and challenging way to burn off a few vacation calories!

Seen a lot of churches on our tour and this rates with the best of them. Nice to take in the splendor without actually having to venture inside. Can't say a lot because of this but the sheer beauty of it is apparent from the outside. Not just another church.

The church of St. Michael is in the east of the old university. In 1765 it was the foundation for the church today. It is a sight to see. My husband and I have been fortunate to travel around the world and agreed this is one of the most beautiful and ornate churches we have seen.
