We really enjoyed our visit to the Reichstag. Being interested in both history and architecture this place was a feast for both the senses and the intellect. Norman Fosters glass dome on top is a gem. You can visit while the parliment is sitting - now thats transparency. To walk the very halls that Hitler walked on his way to... more

We waited for around an hour to get in...we knew we had to go in as you cant visit Berlin without experiencing it even if it was freeeezing! Once up on the top floor the outdoor viewing area is amazing (we went in the evening and so everything was illuminated) when you walk up around the dome it is good... more

this was definitely the highlight of my germany trip. (frankfurt, cologne, berlin, potsdam) old palaces are nice and regal, but the reichstag dome is one of a kind. i've never been inside the girkin in london (ive seen it from afar), and i imagine it to be similar to this modern, dazzling dome. you also get to see a nice... more

We followed advice and began queuing early, at 7.45am on a beautiful morning, and gained entry at 8.03 sharp. It was certainly worth it as we could discover an almost empty Reichtsag straight away. A building steeped in history now incorporating the old with the new. Look out for the Russian graffiti from ’45 (some not very complimentary, I’m told)... more

If the long queue to get into the Reichstag puts you off (3.5 hours when we were there in Aug) do what we did. We were informed of a half hour lecture in English in the Reichstag building, and after that you were allowed straight into the building and dome. Which meant that we did not queue, just turned up... more

I went with a tour group, arriving right when they opened for visitors in the morning to avoid long lines. The dome on the roof is really cool and thoughtfully designed. The mirrors on the outside of the dome's funnel reflect light and heat into the building during cold months and the funnel itself allows hot air inside to escape... more

Don't queue to have the view from the Dome, book a table for a coffee/meal in the restaurant and when your coffee/meal is over, you can access the dome withou having queued. more

No words can descripe Norman Fosters Reichtag DOME. Its just the best site in Berlin and you MUST go, even if it means standing in line for over 1 hour. The vue is spectaculary and the Dome itself is worth a trup to Berlin. Please se my photos for further detalies more

We started to queue at 9pm when the lines are slightly shorter, and were immediately redirected to a door to the right at a lower level intended for handicapped visitors. We are certainly not handicapped but do look like the seniors we are. If you are not a senior, then book for the restaurant. This, too, avoids the long lines.... more
