A great historical monument of the city, lots of tourists and tourist activities. Free English walking tours leave from this spot at around 11am every day. Can get your passport stamped here saying you visited East & West Germany. Make sure you stop by the Room of Silence, very humbling experience. more

the gate of Brandenburger Tor is a must, when visiting Berlin. Before the wall came down, the Tor was right in the middel and the area was a disgrase to the German people. Now you can take a biketour through the gates, but beware of alle the turist in the area. Its been renovated and lies in a quiet place... more

We were in the vicinity of the gate seeing various sights for several hours so passed by in both daylight and dusk. Out of the two I would definitely recommend being there as the sun goes down and at night. The visual impact of the gate is very impressive in the dark. more

The gate is truly a beautiful site in Berlin. Now if you're going to compare it to something like the Arc de Triomph or Arco di Constantino, it will certainly be underwhelming.
