This museum is a complete was of time. First you waste time at the offensive security check. Then you waste time trying to find anything in the irritatingly confusing corridors, while the staff ignore you. Lastly, you waste time looking at poorly labeled, mediocre (at best) exhibits scattered randomly through the museum. more

I visited this museum for the first time last week. As the granddaughter of German Jews who fled the in the 1930´s it was obviously a very important museum for me. I read the museum's website before I arrived and had decided in advance what I wanted to see so this made my visit through the labarynth much easier. I... more

Went there as part of long night of the museums. Left fairly quickly, would be seriously upset if I spent money just for this place. After queing for an absurd and offensive security check you get to see some random uncorrelated thing, some veguely relevant, some just utterly idiotic - with a page-long explanation why this is a genius work... more

Overall, I'd have to say we were disappointed with our visit. However, I'd want to stress that that wasn't because of the staff, who were unfailingly courteous and helpful (not least when our group became separated and we couldn't find each other). The building is impressive, of course; at the very least, it's an interesting piece of sculpture in itself,... more

I visited two weeks ago. I tried to buy two books and a 50 something woman tried to cheat me by charging me "double". I bought something else and she mixed quarters in with my Euros and denied it. She was targetting tourists and had every intension of stealing. Lots of young foriegn students were present and I'm sure she... more

We thought we'd like the Jewish Museum, but we thought we'd spend a couple of hours there. Instead, we spent close to six. The part on the Holocaust was disappointing, but the rest of the museum had so much fascinating stuff. more

Simply dreadful. No structure at all, and the museum does not know what it wants to be about and (everything and nothing at the same time); for instance the first exhibit leads from a medieval history straight into the Kosher kitchen, then 1 panel on zionism (which will teach you nothing). It's also all very patronising "here's a sewing machine/bath... more

It is quite an undertaking to tell the history of the Jewish people from early history, through the Middle Ages, the Holocaust, and up to today. I only spent two hours in the museum but remember it being a rewarding experience. If I had the time, I would probably go back and repeat individual sections so I could absorb it... more

I had read about the Museum and what the architect thought he was achieving. Sadly for me I never found the building inspiring or thought provoking. His use of voids to emphasise loss , never really worked for me. The Museum itself contained sad remiminders of people fleeing the country and what shattered lives they endured. It certainly showed the... more
