We came for the jazz sunday, had booked and paid in advance, but the payment was not put through. It took me a few weeks of phoning to get my money back as I had to pay on the day as well. The buffet was okay, but the service very slow.

We booked tickets online in advance to see a concert performance of Candide at the Deutsche Oper. The Opera house itself is easy to get to aas it has it's own dedicated metro station. There was a lovely festive atmosphere in the building before the performance and people had really dressed up - not dissimilar to Covent Garden in London....

I went yesterday to the Deutsche Oper to see the Staatsballet production of Romeo and Juliet. The show was sold out, but we got there about an hour before showtime and there were several people selling tickets outside. We actually ended up paying about 20 EUR less than the sale price for out tickets - a great deal! So my...

Great voices and modern set. Costumes and lighting were wonderful. Love European opera!

My wife and I saw The Magic Flute in early January 2012. Even though we hardly understood a word, we both enjoyed the performance immensely. The performers were almost universally excellent with a few rare exceptions. I would have liked to have seen more effort with the sets and costumes but the performances more than compensated. Recommended.

Some things to keep in mind:
-coat check is free, so don't be afraid to bundle up if it's winter
-leave your cell phone with your coat; no one will...

I saw the best performance of Der Rosenkavalier I've ever seen at this theater. The building itself is not much to talk about, but the production was creatively done, and the food and wine between acts were lovely. I would go again.

Go see a ballet, or a opera. Between the acts drink a glass of wine to celebrate.
