Although it was a snowy winters day we arrived here, it was the atmosphere of this not to be missed Museum that chilled us. The House is a picturesque overlooking a lake. The movie Conspiracy with Kenneth Branagh and Colin Firth is worth a look before you go to appreciate it even more. The house is one large exhibtion as... more

As a native German I wanted to see the place where the word "Endloesung" was first used in 1942 by Heydrich over a meeting on Janaury 20th. The Wannsee Conference lasted only 90 Minutes - but moved history tremendously. 90 minutes is also the time it took me to go through the rooms. The Museum is quite paedagogical, although I... more

This house is absolutely vital to understanding the decision to exterminate non-aryans during WWII. The house itself is in a beautiful area of Berlin, right on the lake and surrounded by trees and gardens. It is absolutely picturesque. The house is set up very nicely for a museum. The staff of the house is very knowledgeable and were so willing... more

I went to Haus der Wannsee-Konferenz on my first day in Berlin [Sep. 2006] for the obvious reason that this place is one of immense historical significance. The experience is quite moving especially when one considers what occured at such a peaceful, isolated location. I agree with the other reviewers that the museum may not be the finest Berlin has... more

If you are into World War 2 history like I am then this place should be visited. I agree with one of the other reviewers that there is very little about the meeting except the minutes of the meeting that had been recorded are translated into English and are located in the room where the actual meeting took place. Unfortunately,... more

I visited this museum while in Berlin in May 2007, stopping here for an afternoon on the way back from Potsdam. The museum is the ground floor of the property where the Final Solution was devised. When I went there I was was wondering how an entire museum could be devoted to a meeting that was very short. While there... more

If you have seen all the obvious tourist attractions of Berlin, it is worth taking some time out to travel to the southwest region of the city to visit the WannSee, where you can take a ferry ride around the small lakes. The only downfall is that commentary is only in German, and unless you are fluent or are lucky... more
