You must be willing to read a lot, and you should be interested in history. And you take the risk that this visit may spoil the rest of the day. It seems unbelievable that some people sat together on the rim of the "Grosser Wannsee" with food an drinks, to discuss how to put a system on the extinction of... More

It may seem gruesome to rate with five stars the place where the Holocaust was literally planned. But the well conceived historical exhibit is highly informative and educational. The house is located on the border of the popular Grosser Wannsee Lake, facing a bathing beach on the other side, and bordered by old upper class houses and estates - this... More

This is very easy to get to from Berlin. You take the S Bahn and a local bus. This was the site where they decided to eliminate all the Jews in Europe. What is so crazy is that they held this meeting in a beautiful mansion on a beautiful lake over a nice lunch. They could have done this in... More

anyone interested in the holocaust should visit this building. you get an eerie feeling as you look out on the lake & realise that the holocaust was planned in this building so many years ago. there is a library upstairs but its only open monday to friday.

We were there on a very cold, snowy February day - I imagine much like the day in January 1942 when Heydrich met with other officers to take the decision about the "final solution on the question of the Jews". The house is a place of remembrance and shows the story of the Holocaust with some very explicit papers and... More

This exhibit is very detailed, you do not need a guide if you understand English, although I imagine a guided tour would have improved our visit. Even if you are visiting many museums and memorials related to the Holocaust, I would still say this is a must-see

There was something very special visiting here, even though you may be very familiar with the history of the Third Reich and the holocaust. I have been to multiple WW 2 locations, exhibits, and museums but to read the notes from this rather short meeting involving only a dozen or so invitees in the room where it occurred is just... More

I needed a strong cup of coffee after this visiting this powerfully affecting museum. Horrifying inhumane thinking to produce ‘The final solution to the Jewish question’ was set out in the original documents supporting the Wansee Conference The matter of fact orderliness of the plans was truly chilling. Even though I am fairly well informed about this aspect of WW2... More

The Wannsee House is a pleasant villa in the southwestern Berlin suburb of Wannsee (very easy and quick to reach by S-bahn train and then the bus) where a dozen or so Nazi officials gathered for 90 minutes in January 1942 and almost casually launched a plan to kill 11 million Jews. The history is well known, so why go... More
