As we live in Berlin and recently bought a Prussian Culture Heritage card (free entrance in the State owned museums in Berlin) we could go to the Hamburger Bahnhof for free (normal entrance 12 Euros). At least the cashier warned us that they were between exhibits and there wouldn't be much to see. The building itself was interesting and the bookshop was quite good, but otherwise the single biggest disappointment of my time in Berlin. Best to look elsewhere for contemporary art. Sigh. More

Visited 23rd March 2012. We live in Berlin and have visited many times before. We like the permanent collection best and in particular the old engine hall. However, currently the museum permanent collection areas are closed. There is only a small sign telling visitors this at the cash desk. The entry prices are very complicated at the best of times... Modern art is subjective. You will love some and confused by some. This is the place for it in Berlin. It is walking distance from the main train station (350 m to be exact). Great temporary exhibitions, while we were there we enjoyed the Ryoji Ikeda exhibition, and the Joseph Beuys permanent collection etc. A bit expensive, but good. More

for all art lovers. In an old train station tuned into a big museum, you will find bet contemporary art and architecture. It' one of the spots I wouldn't miss ever. More

the collection is just great! its a museum of contemporary art and they have program each month and always good ! the restaurant also very nice its Sarah Wiener restaurant :) i enjoy so much from salad to nachtisch ! just great food More

Very subjective opinion but it did not impress me. Although i liked very much the temporary exhibition:cloud cities. Anyways it is worth seeing.And the building itself is beautiful. More

Loved it - fantastic visiitng exhibition when we were there but the permanent collection was cool too. The staff were friendly, it's eay to find your way around, the building is beautiful and you can take photos. More
