This is an essential visitors itinerary item.
Words cannot express the knowledge that is gleaned from this memorial to understand how things occurred in the 1930s and 1940s and how it should never recur.
It's best to do a guided tour. The audio is essential.

It is really a shame that the former Stasi prison in Berlin - Hohenschönhausen can hardly be found in any guide book of Berlin.
