Definitely worth a stroll through this area which is a mix of typical old warehouses and new, modern buildings More

Walking through the area and into some of the buildings is a must if you want to appreciate the history of a harbor town. It does not take long but while in Hamburg, this is a must see. More

Look, this place is worth walking through, if just to take a few pictures. But it's a bit over hyped in my opinion. There are plenty of European cities with more unique and picturesque areas. This is not, in my opinion, one of the must see spots in Hamburg. The harbor, the Ballinstadt, and the St. Nikolai memorial are much... More

A trip around the canals is a must: either the historic 2 hr trip around the warehouses and old Hamburg and/or the greener residences canal cruise taking in more of the Alster lake also 2 hrs. More

This is best seen from the water. Rows of historic red-brick warehouses along the canals with bridges and cranes. Take a boat trip ("Große Hafendrundfahrt") from Landungsbrücken but make sure to chose one of the open launches starting from the landward side of the pontoon, not the flashy excurion boats or fake paddle steamers. A most convincing display if why you should NOT simply demolish old buildings in a city and put up modern monstrosities. This old business / warehouse district, buiklt in pleasing red brick, has been renovated into an amazing showcase - with myriad olde worlde nostalgic paraohernalia. You can easily lose yourself for most of a day roaming here and taking... More

The Speicherstadt is something I think one should take the time to see while in Hamburg. Hamburg is one of the largest ports in the world and as such, the most important industry would then be the import/export business. Here you will see the seemingly endless rows of red brick warehouses, the customs buildings, and so on. More

This was built thinking about the port city. Have 50 warehouses built to store the goods. The boat ride in the city is an memorable experience. For vegiterians not much options are there. Can go to the ride from the fitch market and can visit elbe tunnel. More
