Went here with a group to view a film shown in English. It was a wonderful experience. Completely renovated - very comfortable seats although we couldn't reserve a long row to sit together, but they started the film right on time which was great. I'd go back again and again. More

Sometimes when you go to a museum you have to "try" to like it or you wonder where your entrance fee would have been better spent. Not the case with the Deutsches Filmmuseum. Obviously Germany has given some great cinematic gifts to the world through the work of German directors and actors so I had particularly high hopes for this... More

The best of this place is the cheap cinema sessions they have everyday. There are always a monthly catalogue with several movies from different countries. What they have in common? They are generally old movies that have been distinguished along the time as that movies you have to see before you die. So, if you are along Frankfurt with nothing... More

The museum has been around a few years, but they renovated over most of 2011. The permanent exhibits are on two floors. The usual examples of early technology (zoetropes, hand-cranked cameras, etc.) are here, as well as a few costumes (including one from the original "Alien"). There's a fun green-screen area where you can see yourself on a monitor on... More

The history of film is embodied in this museum. There are also some really interesting objects from famous german and international films. Highlights included costumes from Alien. More

This museum is well worth a visit, and with a Visitors Pass (Frankfurt Card, obtainable for €9.20) you get a discount of 50%. There is plenty to see here, apparatus, costumes, films, but it might be an idea to visit in the late afternoon if you want to avoid the school trips. More

There is visually a lot to see once you enter the museum. Your eye is caught the minute you walk through the door. The coffee shop is ideal and nicely located where you can watch the day to day life of the museum go by. We had our young baby and he was very stimulated by all that was on... More

Modern and good display of the movie history, from the first visual effects and machinery to modern day green screen. Funny old movies with surprising modern humor. A great way to spend some hours away from e.g. rain. More

Tremendous array of film history on display - the most interesting being the original Kinetographs and Panorama's! I knew nothing about film history until now - great place, polite staff and nice coffee shop too :) More
