We spent the whole day at the zoo. It's top quality in terms of animal diversity and has big selection of unusual animals including penguins. There were a few really interesting playgrounds. I think lots of local families just come for the playgrounds More

Ienjoyed a few hours here. There is a nice assortment of animals. The animals look healthy and well cared for. I did feel for the poor gorillas. They looked quite depressed and sad. far too intelligent to be caged I think. The zoo is close to the centre of the city and has its own subway/metro stop. Very easy to get... More

It's pleasant to walk around the zoo, if you consider it a small park with some animals. Probably an ok choice for kids, but if ever you've sen animals in the wild, you can't help but be overwhelmed by the sadness of the creatures "in prison", this is especially the case, IMO, for the monkeys, Tigers and, curiously enough the... Great birds, reptiles, and aquarium, but there were no elephants, hippopotamuses or aardvarks, the main animals I wanted to see. No staff anywhere, no brochure to indicate where things are, just pay, wander, and enjoy what you see. Don't look for anything specific, because it might not be there. More

Very enjoyable and good sized menagerie. Especially liked the nocturnal area and aquarium. Though its sad to see primates in enclosures the animals seemed happy enough. Great for kids. We went on a rainy march day. It's a twentyfive minute walk from the centre. I loved it. More

Small zoo. Good for afternoon out, but certain parts really need modernising. More

A very diverse mixture of animals. We were very impressed with pur visit and the large number of exhibits. Entrance fee was 4 euros with the Frankfurt city card, but it at the main train station. Half-off most attractions and unlimited city travel on public transportation. More

The zoo was one of the most pleasant stops on our trip - there is a great variety of animals, giraffes, tigers, penguins, ants, monkeys, many, many, many animals! And they are all so social, the giraffe would bend his neck to look at you, many animals would come and let you touch them. We passed by some of them... More

Nice zoo, with enough space for the animals so as not to be depressing. There were two tiger cubs when I was there in December 2011; very cute. The feeding of the seals was also fun to watch. Some renovation going on, but overall well worth the 8 euros to enter. More
