Great views, sadly the monument was under renovation and I would recommend the combined ticket with the walk to the ski lift down to Assmannshausen & a boat trip back to Rudesheim.

The 30 over feet tall Niederwald monument could be seen from a distance and it was so great. We admired it. The woodlands surrounding the monument and the journey upto it was beautiful and amazing.

Monument was shrouded in scaffolding and plastic, so invisible. However, feast your eyes on the view and walk down through the vinyards and you will not be disappointed.

Stopped here on our walk between the cable car at Rudesheim and the chair lift to Assmannhausen and although the view down over the Rhine is very picturesque the monument is covered in scaffolding and plastic sheets. Once renovated let's hope it does justice to the picture postcards you can buy all over the area.
