These gardens were wonderful to walk around. But not to be undertaken without lots of energy as they were HUGE. They were like an enormous version of Hampton Court Palace. Without the flowers. Of course there were flowers in the main garden, but once you got away from it, there were none. Just green trees, green grass, white dust and... More

The gardens are quite large. There is a Nikki st. Phaille grotto which is really amazing. Good restaurant too! More

We came to Herrenhausen Gardens bacause we live in Kew Gardens and one of the founders of Kew, Prince Frederick, was brought up in Hannover at Herrenhausen. The main baroque garden is a treat. It is very large and has a number of extremely interesting different areas. It also has lovely fountains and water features as well as amazing statues.... More

Worth a visit when flowers are blooming and make sure you get the combo ticket for the gardens (Berggarten) across the street as well. Street car stop right at the gardens from the town center. Restaurant prices seemed on the high side, not many customers. More

I went to the gardens for my first time just as winter was ending. It was okay at best. The fountains were turned off and everything was still brown and gray with only the faintest hints of green. I went back in the summer of the same year. What a change! Suddenly, everything was full of color and life! You... More

The Herrenhausen Gardens are one of the most beautiful gardens in Europe with the baroque Great Garden, the botanical garden Berggarten (with a wonderful permanent orchid exhibition) and the Georgengarten, a romantic landscape garden. Herrenhausen is always worth a visit!!! More

It is not great in the winter, but in the summer Hannover is light until close to midnight so go to the gardens around 2100 or so and you will have a great time. Beautiful and this is THE start of what is today the House of Hannover of Great Britain. More

These parks are well-tended, with Georgen Garten being the "English" style, laid out paths, with lawns, plantings and small lakes, ponds and canals. Inside the park is the William Busch museum, you'll find reviews elsewhere and at one end of the avenue of trees is a small outdoor cafe, great for ice cream in the summer and coffee in the... More
