Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The bad news is, that there is limited parking space close to the entrance; only two small lots left and right of the entrance. We had the good luck to score a free bay, otherwise we would have to hunt for a parking place in the neighbourhood streets. The good news is, that the Aachen Zoo is a charming place to walk and look at the exotic animals. It is a relatively small zoo; don't expect many elephants and other larger animals. The largest species that they have are a sort of camels. Many benches to rest the feet, but be sure to bring some sustenance, because cafes and restaurants are not a mainstay of the zoo; there is one establishment close to the entrance, more a counter than a cafe, where you can get coffee, soft drinks, cake etc. Bathrooms are certainly not a core business of the zoo. There are not many and the bathroom I visited was not exactly unclean, but in dire need of refurbishment. The conclusion is, that the animals and the care for the animals come (rightly so) on the first place in this zoo. Everywhere you can feel the loving care for the zoo by the staff. A well deserved four point rating.

We visited some friend living next to Aachen so we ended up visiting the city as well. It was around New Year's so not many alternatives available. We chose the Zoo but it was a nice chocie, for a small one it had impressively many animals and a lot of space.
Clean and quiet. It has a lake inside were geese and other species roam free.
I think kinds can also ride ponies in the zoo.
It was educational for us all, as we all have discovered new species.

I visited the zoo alone as a guy in my early 20s. While I had a good time, I only spent about 40 minutes in the park and would not return. The zoo is clearly designed for families, with the most prominent feature being the children's playground in the center. The zoo itself does feature beautiful cheetahs and monkeys, and birds. But these are the most exotic creatures you'll find. The rest were mostly common livestock - again, a place more for small children than more mature groups.

Not surprisingly for such a small zoo there are no elephants. But there are plenty of others animals. Some of which I do not remember having seen before. Our daughter of 9 loved it.

Not a super large zoo, but a nice place to spend 90-120 mins with children and young adults. Great choice of animals, from zebras and penguins to cheetahs and raccoons. Several playgrounds. Nice for a leisurely walk in the afternoon.

Visited this zoo as it had good reviews.
Parking was a limited right outside the zoo, however, we were redirected to the main road, where there was ample spaces, but it did mean a small 5 minute walk (but it was free!).
When we arrived at the ticket office, we were surprised to find out that entry was cash only.... I never carry cash, so the wife came to the rescue again. The entry price was very cheap for adults, being only €7.
The place itself was compact and a modern looking complex, but it packed a lot into the area, and the animals seemed to have plenty of room in their enclosures.
In all, a good afternoon, and well recommended.

Not the largest of zoos but well worth a visit. Entrance is around 7 euros, cheapest zoo I have ever been too! Very enjoyable to stroll round, good selection of animals who are not camera shy. Only downer is that the cafe was locked up so had little choice of venue for lunch. Ended up having to have a large sausage on a small piece of bread, which was expensive! Plan to take your own lunch if going to visit, lots of places to sit and eat.

Good place to see some animals and to take walk. Good for kids to see different animals.
Some animals are really fun to feed, but ask before you feed rubbish.
