Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Two taps spout water in this old spa building. Take the time to pop your hands in so you can discover the natural 52 degree temperature. Feel free to take a sip but it isn't the freshest-smelling water in the world. Think light sulphur.
Check out the two adjacent plaques that give details of people who visited and accessed the spa from years gone. Very interesting.

This is am rather elaborate spa. There is a foyer with two pavilions and a very notable smell of sulfur. The waters are said to have healing powers and drinking from the two fountains are also said to have healing properties. Worth a stop and it's free.

The Elisenbrunnen fountain, built in 1822, is the symbol of Aachen. Two fountains provide warm water (52° Celsius), but be warned the high sulphur content of the water gives the water a somewhat weird smell and funny taste.

Thé café is cozy, spacious and kids friendly :)
The food was also tasty and reasonable in price! The portions were enough. Recommend :)

At Elisenbrunnenj you can wash your hands in this hot water with a lot of sulfur. Not for drinking, but some people benefit from it (against rashes and eczema). See the list of people who visited this place. Sometimes very busy, but nicely kept with a garden behind it.

Interesting white pavillion with taps producing the (quite smelly ) water from the old well.
These springs were apparently visited by quite a number of nobles and other dignitaries in the past, considering the tablets with their names and the year they were there.

It is a classical architecture at the center of Aachen with fountains of thermal water. Yes, it smells of sulfur that reminds you of the smell of rotting eggs. Behind the building is a green space with archaeological remains of a building.

A very pleasant spot with both inside and outside dining or simply enjoying and liquid refreshment. German food, good steaks, good service.

We just had a quick look, it is surely beautiful and we well understand where the rotten egg smell comes from. It is smaller than expected but worth a small detour the most.
