Skip visiting this zoo unless you go there to look at the flowers, bushes, and trees. This zoo has gone way too animal friendly.- viewer unfriendly. Vegitation in the cages, as well as along the viewing areas has gotten out of hand. Might as well be a private onwers' collection. Way too much emphasis on buying food and drinks for... More

Not the best zoo in the Ruhr-Rhein region but certainly a trip worthwhile. The planners have certainly made the most of the space they have available and animal welfare appears to be very on the list of priorities. Located close to the Rhine, this is a great experience for kids and couples alike and the asking price for entry isn't... More

It's a great day out, lots to see, you can spend the whole day in the zoo. And not expensive at all for entrance. More

Getting to the zoo from the Cologne central station is quite easy. The zoo is smaller than the Duisburg zoo. It is a place to take the little ones, but I have seen better. The elephant compound is really big, and they seemed to have a large number of elephants. Snacks are limited to sausage, chips and ice cream, the... More

I often take my son to the Köln Zoo , in fact I have a season ticket. There is lots to see good cheapish food your ticket price also includes entrance to the Aquarium an afternoon in its self. The zoo is right next to The Botanical Gardens the entrance is free and is worth a visit in its own... More

Kids loved this zoo, it's big and houses a lot of large cats, rhinos, elephants, giraffes, apes etc. My tip is to combine it with the cable car that leaves from opposite the Rhine as you get discounted prices for both. More

If you have children, you have to bring them there. Go on 16:00, when the price is reduced (the zoo closes on 18:00, 2h are enough, but don't take on 17:00, 1h is not enough!) There is also a playground, which is also pretty good. More
