Nice gardens to walk around but thought would be able to see inside the Schloss - not possible. Guided tours only - person we spoke to not very helpful. Nice cafe, though!

Having lived next to this fantastic park for a few years I can really recommend a day trip almost any time of year to enjoy the nice looks, green lawns, playgrounds, jogging paths and more. Of course, in spring time when the magnolia trees are in bloom it offers an orgy in pink for the photo interested.

One of the few sightseeings I did when in Duesseldorf, certainly worth its effort.
Huge gardens with flowers that blossom, realy old building with amazing details on the roof. Make sure you will spend 2-3 hours there on a sunny day to make it worth.

There is a combined ticket (10.40 EUR) for the museums and guided tour to the main bulding...

If you are in the area this is an interesting couple of hours. I was lucky enough to get an English tour - not usually given but our small group were all English-speakers (even the Germans). IF you go skip the museums - all in German, and not very good regardless.
