The spot where the Mosel joins the Rhine. The German flags fly and Kaiser Wilhelm sits atop his horse for a fine picture. See it from the river on a cruise as well. More

Lucky with brilliant sun and blue sky - not too many people about and wonderful to see where the Mosel and Rhein meet. More

We took a walk along Konrad-Adenauer-Ufer leading up to Deutsches Eck. We were there off season, so unfortunately the cable car ride across the river was closed. The view from Deutsches Eck is amazing! Well worth our time. More

I'm not sure what we really expected, visiting the confluence of two visitors in the dark! Perhaps a bit of flood lighting, and some accessible information on their roles in European history - or at least the origins of Deutsches Eck as an attraction. As it was, it was dark, cold and windy, and not much else! More

Don't just look at it. Feel it and read about it's history. So you will perhaps understand something of Germans' 19th century national feelings. More
