Large and almost empty, perhaps that is the reason to why it is impressive. It must have been fantastic in the old days... Check out the organ: very special. The so-called Basilika, Constantine's throne room, is the largest surviving single-room structure from Roman times. The key is that this wasn't built as a church--this is Constantine's throne room! This dates back to the 4th Century AD, and is now used as a Lutheran Church. The size is overwhelming, but there is not much there in relation to its original use.
