St Nicholas Church was just one block from our hotel and we visited this church twice. The architecture is wonderful. The colours of the church interior is decorated with green sprouting colums with white pews. The carvings on the walls around the altar area are so iintricate and detailed. A visit to this church is a must. More

Walking to the Thomaskirche on New Years's Day I visited the Nikolaikirche ,too.The city's oldest and very beautiful Gothic syle church has its own allure if not the fame of the Thomaskirche.They, too, have many excellent concerts. The church has a fine Italian restaurant close by. More
