The best way to view this wonder is to have climbed the mountain under human power. We rode up on our touring bicycles; 1,300 meters of climb in under 16 km. We dodged a herd of sheep on our way up. The few people that we saw on our way up were stoped along side the rode. They offered words... more

Whilst staying at the nearby Hotel La Posada el Torcal (a wonderful Hotel) we spent the morning in the El Torcal National Park. We took the "yellow walk" - you follow yellow pegs in the ground (about an hour and 45 minutes). Get away from the Costas and travel back 250 million years in time to El Torcal Natural Park. The rock formations are absolutely stunning and the magnificent views down to Malaga and the Mediterranean are alone worth the trip. The city of Antequera and the white village of Villanueva de la Concepción are both nearby with numerous restaurants and tapas... more
