Well worth the visit - excellent views from the top of the tower as well as interesting to see the camera in operation. More

Cadiz was a stop on our cruise. I had read the reviews and decided to see it... and brought along 6 skeptical fellow cruisers ( pressure was on me!) All agreed it was definitely worth the climb... many many steps to the top.. the explanation and show gave an overall view of the city.. ours was in English and Spanish...... More

Nice to see one of the many Cadiz towers. The camera obscura was something different and fun. More

We arrived as the tower opened and were able to enjoy the panoramic views from the roof terrace alone and then shared the camera obscura show with just one other couple. Really good introduction to our first day in Cadiz as it gave us a wonderful view of the town and we could get our bearings. More

This is the second camera obscura that I have visited (the other in Havana), and I highly recommend the experience. The operator/guide covers the whole city in about 10 minutes and adds a little humour here and there. It's worth the climb, even just for the view of the other towers from the roof. More

Cadiz is a real surprise. It does not get alot of fanfare in the guidebooks. This is a fun way to see the city. You go up into this tower and they have this camera that gives a panoramic view of the entire city. You can see details, even people walking. The staff are very engaging and make it fun!... More

Torre Tavira is a fun place to visit. On top of the tower, there is a camera obscura, the first one installed in Spain. They have demonstration of it every half an hour or so. It was fascinating to see the simple yet sophisticated device. Bonus of going to the watch tower is the view from the roof top. The tower... More

Worth the hike for great orientation of the town - go here first - then see the camera obscura explanation for an even better view of the town. Stop at the city market before or afterwards... More
