For those who like walking and adventure. You can also go for an adventure tour or simply walking. Be careful with the 'Caminito del Rey', dangerous if you are not prepared. More

Friends took us to this incredible place. Firstly there are three stunningly beautiful turquoise coloured lakes bordered by pine forests. You can swim or fish, or picnic (no BBQs) on the lake shore, take out a canoe or a pedalo out. Carp and bass are abundant and the fishermen in the group were over the moon. Just west of Alora... This is often called ‘Malaga’s Lake District’. Climbers from all over the world come to El Chorro for the challenges posed by the extraordinary geology of the area. Yet is equally well suited to day trippers coming by car or regular walkers and hikers. Getting here is a little complicated, as there are no nearby motoways, and most of the... More

We drove through Alora and followed the signs to El Chorro, had a drive around (basically we were just exploring at random) and then had a very generous lunch in a small... More

There are three beautiful turquoise lakes surrounded by pine forests. Although these are not natural lakes they are three artificial lakes created by a dam built across the dramatic 200 m. high Guadalhorce river gorge, known as the Garganta del Chorro. When we walked to the top of one of the cliffs we could see eagles and vultures flying around... More
