This building has recently been transformed and been done to a high standard. It is fantastically tranquil to wander around quietly and great to appreciate some less famous artists. Great trip More

The Carmen Thyssen Museum is now having a special exhibition of landscape paintings by famous artists. These paintings are from the personal collection of the Baronesa Thyssen. My favorite painting was by Henri Edmond Cross, titled Beach, Evening Effect. It is a pointillist painting with plenty of color. Renoir's Wheatfield was specially beautiful. Another great painting was Michael Andrews's Daylesford.... More

We loved this museum. The collection was extensive and housed in such a beautiful building. The audio guides were very informative. There were plenty of seats to relax and enjoy the paintings and the gift shop had many desirable items. More

I visited the place once the first wave of local visitors had ebbed away after a few weeks. The place is interesting, as an old Renaissance townhouse , but the restoration has given it too much of a modern, minimalist flavour. The paintings were quite second rate with the exception of a few sorollas and other modernist painters from the... More

I visited this Museum in July as I was also attending a Flamenco recital there. The Museum was lovely...the works on display I thought were very interesting and in quantity... more so than the Picasso Museum which I felt was lacking. It has a lovely inner patio courtyard where the Flamenco recital was held.Truly magical with the big Flamenco shawls draped over... I found this rather disappointing the Carmen Thyssen Museum rather disappointing, but then I saw it after visiting the Picasso Museum which is brilliant. The Carmen Thyssen Museum does not have such an interesting collection and I didn't care for the way the paintings were hung. There wasn't the usual harmony one expects from a good museum. It's situated right... More
