Spent a day hiking in the mountains with a private guide. Learned the history and culture. Saw ancient Roman roads, remote villages only known to the locals and a way of life still far removed from modern day. Have been to the American and Canadian Rocky's, the Swiss and Austrian mountains - all of which were very distinct in character...

Travelling from Leon to Oviedo, we made a detour by car through the Picos the Europa. During 4-5 hours (average speed : 35 km/h) we enjoyed the amazing landscapes and the small villages. We hadn't time to take a walk, wich was a shame. We sure will come back to stay a couple of days in these wonderfull mountains. The...
