We try to attend mass at all the Cathedrals we see - for many reasons, but mostly because during a mass the Cathedrals look their best! The lights are all turned on, the music plays - and if a cathedral is going to feel religious - this is the time.
So we waited for the Cathedral to open for Saturday...

This is quite impressive inside but not as spectacular as other cathedrals. The day we visited it was packed with people, so you could hardly move, and it was difficult to view the architecture. Outside though the view of, and from, the cathedral is fantastic, although the square was half full of the small tents of the protestors which spoiled...

The cathedral, small enough to be called a church, is a must see in the old town: quaint & beautiful.

I suppose I have been spoilt visiting cathedrals in France (Burgundy). The facade is still pretty interesting, but it's Gothic Revival and not the stone old thing I like best.

Impressive enough from outside, but every time we found ourselves nearby (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) it was closed!

Take the time to visit the inside of this beautiful cathedral - peaceful and quiet even amid the bustle of the day. Well worth the time!
