In the guidebooks, this museum is often referred to as the forgotten sister next to it's 'big brother' - the Guggenheim - but this is totally unfair. The museum audio tour is excellent - there are lovely painting by many masters on display - some I had never seen before and thought were excellent. But the star of the museum... More

Not that there is anything wrong with the building, but it is relatively nondescript and if you don't know it was there - right there in... More

super collection of art; mainly Basque, organised in epochs and styles and a very worthwhile visit, audioguides in English just 1 euro, but the descriptions on the walls are in English as well as Basque and Spanish . Aim for Wednesdays if possible as that's the free admission day. Have a beer and a stroll in the park afterwards....... More

I try to visit art museums in every city I visit in Spain and have never left a museum disappointed. I left this one delighted. I paid 6€, a bargain that included entry to a special exhibition as well as the audio guide. It's a relatively small museum, a Hershey's kiss in comparison the Prado, so in less than 3... More

The museum is not worth a detour, but once in Bilbao, do not miss out on the museum. The museum's own collection consists of wide array of art works from early Christian art up to Bacon and Kapoor. You kind of have to take your torch out to find the gems, but they are most definitely there. More
