We stayed in a self-catering apartment for six nights and loved every minute. Gorgeous views through palm trees to the sea. The area is very popular with German tourists who seem to come to take part in the many alternative culture outlets and events that take place here. We took advantage of the organic garden to buy wonderful fresh veg.... More

The one just behind the barrier on the quay is great - my husband said it was the best fish meal he's ever eaten. More

Everything was so peaceful and friendly. An interesting mix of age groups, with a number of people who seemed to have decide to "get away from it all" here. Genuine local music, freely available. Amazing walks on your doorstep. More

Whilst Valle Gran Rey retains much of its undoubted charm, be aware of major work on the main baranco between the bus station and the sea. An industrial operation to grade rock down into sand and gravel is under way with dust and noise from the process. Also large tipper trucks were moving loads of bigger rocks from one place... More

Great location as you can get an apartment and split your holidays between the beach and hikking excursions. Not crowded, quiet, good mixture of locals and tourists and plenty of activities in the nature to get rid of stress More

Valle gran rey lies in the far west of la gomera a 1hour catermantrip from san sebastion.Firt impressions are of peacefulness and the sight of many purposeful mainlt german holiday makers, walking, cycling ,jogging and hiking. There is a pedestanised walkway from the harbour to the playa area were the sunset is celebrated daily by crowds including new age residents More

Laregly tacy compared to the rest of the island. Low-grade beach holiday. If you want a Canary beach holiday, go to a main island. To visit here as part of a wider holiday, the valley and the area is amazing! Unmissable! Just, don't stay here, or expect to have a good beach holiday here. More
