Some friends and I happened to stumble upon this beach after renting a car for the day. It was most definitely the highlight of the trip - it felt like discovering this vacant paradise. This is a very long, wide sandy beach, Narrows at hight tide. We visited in August 2008 and it was very windy, great for the wind surfing and kite surfing but not a place you go to sunbathe. If you are after some respite from the crowded beach of the main resorts then Famara may be for you.
