Beautiful cave that you can visit without helm, harness etcetera.
First part of the trip is done by a train (out of order during our visit)
I agree with other reviewers that an English audioguide should be provided. Although our guide explained some aspects in English you miss a lot when you don't understand Spanish.

As caves these are an experience not to be missed, what lets this attraction down are two things, there were no translations to English and there was a definate feeling of being hurried and herded, on two occasions we were called to hurry up when really there was little point in standing in a group and not understanding a word...

I had read about this cave for many years, so as soon as I got the chance to visit it, I did, and I was not disappointed. It is amazing! The cave is quite big (wide and high), there are several "rooms" and we can see examples of stalagmites, stalactites and of the renowned eccentric formations that make this cave...

We've been to el Soplao a few times, and it's really worth a visit. The caves are nothing like the others in Cantabria, nothing like Altamira, there are no paintings, it's the formations which are the attraction, they're totally unique and noone knows exactly how they're formed.
