Although I like simple and clean line architecture, I adored the details of the gothic style with French influence cathedral. It was incredibly jaw dropping! The cathedral was constructed in 1227. It is very very large......has 5 naves supported by 88 pillars and 72 vaults. There are also some beautiful paintings through out the cathedral. Make sure you tour the... More

Toledo is one of unique places in the world which retained its historical originality. Everything is interesting there but Holy Church Cathideral is undoubtedly the perl not only of Toledo but of the world heritage. Go there in the afternoon and you will escape crowds of tourists. Take the head-phone tour, it is really very informative. You will see the... More

You can easily say "seen one Gothic Cathedral, seen 'em all", but this really isn't true. Every one has its differences. This one has some unique artwork, especially from El Greco. It can be very crowded with tourists so try to go early or late when the buses aren't present. We went with a private guide which was a terrific... More

This Cathedral, like many of the great cathedrals of the world, is an imposing and massive building with lovely stained glass windows, lighting an interior filled with small chapels, each one with a number of graves of past archbishops, priests and wealthy people. I would have given this a higher rating if there had been a guide book of who... More

This is a must see. Apart from the grandeur of the cathedral itself there's a substantial art collection in the sacristy - no extra charge. El Greco, Velazquez, Caravaggio, Goya and others. Probably worth taking the audioguide or a guide. More

Visited the ancient capital of Spain by train from Madrid in May 2012. An easy day return journey from the Atocha Estacion in Madrid by RENFe AVE. Cost €20 return including reserved seat. Very comfortable clean aircon carriage. Took Hop on/Hop off bus from Toledo station to top of city. Otherwise very steep 2km walk from station. Cathedral is a... More
