Climbing all those steps to go up the hill took it out of us a little but was well worth the effort. The castle, attacked by Lord Wellington and partly destroyed by the Spanish who didn't want a foreign country to take possession of it, has been superbly rebuilt and is a must for visitors to Burgos.
