Typical Spanish Plaza Mayor! Large and very crowdy. Nice to visit in winter. More

What a stunning plaza, with a great atmosphere! Tourists, students, stag and hen nights, graduations and a wedding on the balcony whilst we were sat drinking our drinks in the sunshine. And definitely worth paying the horrendous price hike for sitting out in the terrace areas, what a view! A must do. More

Salamanca is only an hour or so day trip from Madrid and is a great weekender. I went there for a weekend and left feeling that there was more to explore! Maybe next time! The plaza is one of the highlights - sitting in the winter sun with cuba libres watching the world go by - great memories! More

Plaza Mayor is absolutely gorgeous, by day and especially by night. I highly recommend sitting to relax and people watch for a while with a coffee, a glass of wine, or some delicious gelato! Stay tuned for fun circus acts, traveling book fairs, and all sorts of other events here. More

The plaza is very active, clean and very interesting sculptures on the columns. Lots of history. Very beautiful at night. More

I read this was the most beautiful space in Spain, and so far I would agree. A superb collonaded square, with magnificent gateways, lined with cafes, well worth spending an hour watching the Salamancans go by. More

As large as Madrid, but without the gaudy buskers. Beautiful in the sun under a blue sky, it's absolutely breathtaking in the rain - shimmering lights make for great shots. More
