On our last day - cases packed & awaiting collection - we chose to go to La Ped (the other 2 nearby houses - one covered from head to toe in a blue tarp, the other too expensive) for our 3rd Gaudi experience (SF Cath & Parc done before) in 6 days. We'd been to Sitges the day before to... more

The Pedrera is a great example of Gaudi's work. there are 2 tours for this house. one is about 40 minutes, the other 1.5 hours. great audio presentation. tip: if you take the tourist bus (hop on hop off) you will receive a booklet that offers a 10% discount on Gauid attractions. also hotels have discounts for this attraction as... more

The building with a more reasonable entrance fee of the two famous Guadi buildings, the visit includes the arched attic as a museum of Gaudi’s work, access to the roof and its spectacular view, a glimpse of an apartment as it would have been in the early 20th century, and a (free) audio guide for the whole visit. You get... more

After seeing the €16.50/person entrance fee at Casa Batllo, my fiancee and I walked 2-3 blocks up the street to La Pedrera, another much bigger Gaudi apartment building from the same decade where we had an easier time with the €8/person entrance fee. The audio guide tour was excellent, very well organized and extensive. It covered not only La Pedrera,... more

A bit pricey to get in but if you enjoy seeing unique architecture you won't be let down. The apartments are furnished in period furniture in a kind of Art Deco style. You will notice details like window shapes and unique, marine-inspired floor tiles, not to mention the way light flows from room to room. Up on the roof, there... more

A top notch tour ... you'll enjoy the apartment, but also the view from the roof. Well worth the 45 minute or so wait to purchase tickets. Go early to avoid the lines, or go late to enjoy the view at night. more

I did a "Gaudi day" during my weekend break to Barcelona in September. After deciding to see just the Casa Batllo from the outside, I paid to see inside Casa Mila because I had heard so much about the roof. I was impressed by the outside - the balconies carry on the acquatic theme of Casa Batllo and look like... more

So maybe I was a little bit Guadi-ed out by the time I reached Casa Mila/La Pedrera. It was wonderful but not my favorite. One thing I will say is that it's ALWAYS open -- I toured at 6 pm- 8:30 pm on a Sunday night. The courtyard and entrance is breathtakingly beautiful and the apartment is OK although lacking... more

La Pedrera is not to be missed. It is in the center of the city near the Passeig de Gracia Metro station on Calle Provenza. The apartment building is 6 stories tall and features of Gaudi are displayed on the first, sixth, and roof. An elevator is available, or just walk up. The roof is a playland of weird and... more

My last day in Spain I had a choice to make - I could go with friends to Montserrat, the cathedral to hear the boys choir and have paella on the beach or trek to the Picasso Museum and try to see as much Gaudi as possible. It had been raining for an entire week and the idea of more... more
