In the heart of the Ribera district, this Catalan gothic cathedral is a short walk from its neighboring famous attraction , the Picasso Museum. It was built with sea merchants' money and survived a fire during the Spanish Civil War. Its free to the public and its cool dark interior is well worth a short visit. More

The church is wonderful! It has a couple of entrances, and we came by one of the entrances, that wasn't the main one. So, we weren't really all that impressed with the church's outside look (we got a bit spoilt with all the kitsch that Gaudi is all about), although it is quite a look when you come to the... More

Spend a day just wandering. A map is hany to have but keep it in your pocket. There are museums, shops (Don't miss Jobal on Comerc 21 for saffron) and churches. Oh...food too! More

It's a place full of history and a magnificent gothic cathedral. The church didn't pay a penny for it. The Barcelona fishermen did. It's very wide and beautiful. It looks like then. No luxury, not overdone. More

Another place you need to visit when in Barcelona. We also took the lift to the top and were rewarded by great views. Make sure you walk the entire area as there's so much to see More

My wife and I walked by the Cattedrale and its plaza each day of our trip to Barcelona. On our visit on Sunday morning, the scene during mass was surreal. A bunch of picture taking tourists were in the back of the Cattedrale as the security guards were seating parishioners as mass was being conducted up at the altar. When... More

It's a beautiful simple church. I love the boat under the virgin and while there are pleny of churches out there, this one has a special place in my heart. More
