If you've recently been the focus of an intervention because of your hording, you will love this museum. Federic Mares was a sculptor who apparently never threw away anything, and it's all on display here - his matchbooks, his fans, his watches, his playing cards, his scissors. (His scissors?) Yes. The very attractive courtyard was the first thing that brought me into the museum. Learning then that admission on Wednesdays is free meant a visit! The bottom floors of the museum are mainly taken up with religious sculptures - you'll see endless variations on the Black Madonna here. It's the top next floors that really grab the attention. We visited here quite by chance when we saw endless queues for the Picasso museum. Frederic Mares was an important Catalan sculptor and collector and there are thousands upon thousands of items on display here.
