A lovely square in the centre of the Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarter) of Barcelona, a short walk from the Cathedral, La Rambla and the port area. With its 16th-century watch-tower, it is recommended for history and architecture buffs who I'm sure could spend at least an hour wandering around. As another reviewer has said - there is nothing very touristy... More

There was nothing very touristy here but the place has a real sense of history - as well it should. We wandered around until we found it and it was worth it. More

The Plaza del Rei has very good Gothic architecture and is located in the Gothic Barrio of Barcelona. You can see the facades of the old Royal Palace, the Salo Tinell, and the Chapel Saint Agata. More

Where the old world heard about the existence of the "new world" for the first time... great also for the city museum below it, also great for the free concerts in september... or just great space to sit on steps in sun and take it all in More

Barcelona was a mediaeval capital, and because of the dusk of the Catalan dinasty in the 16th century, its character hasn't changed very much. All the Gothic Quarter is worth a visit More

In Plaça del Rei you'll be near to the old city center. The square itself is not that interesting, but all the narrow streets in the Gotic quarter are interesting. Don't miss the old roman temple. You must get into the building of the Centre Excursionista. It is a place that some people from Barcelona have never visited. More

This is one of the most emotional places in Barcelona. Here Columbus met with Queen Elisabeth. She gave him the budget to arm the vessels and go to find the new route to India... wow¡¡¡ More

This is one of my favourite places in Barcelona, i always come here to sit on the big stairs and rest for a while in the shade in the afternoon hours and to listen to some street musician play some music while i drink a cold beer. This square has an great historic ambient that makes you feel back in... More
