We weren't expecting much in this underpubliced museum. We were even going to give it a miss. But it is worth a visit and unfortunately due to lack of time, we had to rush through it. But do set aside a while particularly if you enjoy art, as this is a surprising collection.

Unfortunately some of the museum was closed but it was worth a visit as part of our ady here.

We found this little museum a particular bright spot in our visit to Montserrat. It has a few real treasures inside and is small and easily manageable. Definitely worth a visit! It includes some Impressionist art (Monet, Degas), as well as works by El Greco, Picasso, Dali, Miro, Chagall.

The Montserrat Museum is in a building across from the basilica and it is built underground, comprising of two stories. Josep Puig I Cadafalch built it in 1929.
