It worth a whole long up there. Take meal with you and you will have amazing lunch up here. Dont follow advice from brouchure and go back same way you went on top. Because in either way you have to make long way lown to monastary through the forest and almost without any panoramas.

The hour-long walk from the funicular of St Joan to the summit of Sant Jeromi isn't particularly tough - though you will feel the mountain in your legs and there's a lot of steps right at the end. The view was stunning. Be warned, though: pretty hard with children, and I wouldn't want to be up there in heavy rain....

If you want an escape from Barcelona or even from Montserrat then the walk to the summit of St Jeromi is the thing to do. If you visit the Tourist Info centre near the monastery they will give you a map with directions starting from the top of the Funicular railway. (Do not try and walk from the monastery..it is...
